The station was legally considered as the private television station in October 8, 2002. The regular programmes are news, sports, Nickelodeon cartoons, and MTV Asia programmes.
GLobal TV was originally owned by PT. Global Informasi Bermutu that built in March 22, 1999. The station genre was addressed to teenagers and young adult. In the early days, the station broadcasted programmes for 24 hours in Jabotabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Medan area only. GLobal TV added the broadcast coverage on January 15, 2005 in 18 cities, such as Palembang, Jambi, Pekanbaru, Padang, Makassar, Manado, Denpasar, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Bandar Lampung, Pontianak and Jayapura. The staton genre had changed in 2006 became a television station for all ages.
